Henry Ford and the Assembly Line
|
This cartoon is about Henry Ford's addition of the assembly line to the automotive industry and how it changed the old way of producing cars into a much more efficient manner. Before the assembly line, it took about 12 hours to make a car. Looking for inspiration, Ford decided to implement a powered assembly line after seeing how efficiently the way food industries were being operated with assembly lines. After his change, cars were being made in 2-and-a-half hours instead of the old 12.
